What’s Coming Next: The Journey of The Mind-Spirit Bible Practice

Updated: 3 days ago

Faith, psychology, and the art of finding wholeness in the gap.

By Nicole Doña

A New Chapter Begins

After years of prayer, therapy, and writing through both wilderness and wonder, The Mind-Spirit Bible Practice is officially in the publishing stage. This book was written from the intersection of faith and mental health—a space that is both tender and holy.

“Healing is holy work, and sometimes healing feels like trembling.”

My goal in writing this book was to create a bridge between evidence-based psychology and Christian spiritual formation—helping people integrate emotional regulation, resilience, and spiritual maturity through both Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Scripture.

Why This Book Matters

For years, I wrestled with a question many of us carry silently: Can faith and psychology really coexist? This book is my answer—a resounding yes. It’s about learning how to let faith and therapy speak the same language, and how to invite God into every part of the healing process. I didn’t write this book because I had all the answers.

“I wrote it because I needed it—a framework that could hold what I was learning in therapy, what I was reading in Scripture, and what I was living every day in the tension between faith and emotion.”

What Readers Can Expect

Each chapter of The Mind-Spirit Bible Practice invites you into a rhythm of spiritual and emotional renewal. You’ll learn how DBT skills mirror biblical disciplines, including:

  • Mindfulness as prayerful awareness

  • Distress Tolerance as sitting with God in the wilderness

  • Emotion Regulation as letting the Spirit rule the heart

  • Interpersonal Effectiveness as speaking the truth in love

It’s not a book about getting it right—it’s about learning to return. To pause before reacting. To breathe before speaking. To find peace not by escaping pain, but by inviting God into it.
